  • Nori seaweed sheets
  • Sushi rice (cooked according to package instructions)
  • Assorted vegetables (e.g., cucumber, avocado, carrot, bell pepper, etc.)
  • Soy sauce or tamari for dipping
  • Wasabi and pickled ginger (optional)


  1. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat or clean surface, shiny side down.
  2. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top edge.
  3. Arrange your choice of vegetables in a line along the bottom edge of the rice.
  4. Carefully roll the sushi using the bamboo mat, applying gentle pressure to keep the roll tight.
  5. Wet the top edge of the nori with a bit of water to seal the roll.
  6. Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into bite-sized pieces.
  7. Serve with soy sauce or tamari for dipping, and optionally with wasabi and pickled ginger on the side.
