Ephedrine and ephedra the difference! Ephedra and ephedrine are related but distinct compounds. Ephedra is a plant that contains several active compounds, including ephedrine. Ephedrine is a stimulant that is chemically similar to amphetamines and can be extracted from the Ephedra plant.
